What do I mean when I talk about KEP?

The Climate and Energy Plan for a city or municipality should analyze the basic structure of energy, water, waste, vehicles and other activities within the operation or assets in the ownership of the city and local government. This includes municipal buildings (including schools, social facilities, administrative and other buildings), service vehicles, greenery services, cemeteries, sports facilities, public lighting, traffic lights and the city's public transport.

White Christmas – A Vianoce boli biele

This year, surprisingly, Christmas was white. 😊 My grandma was telling that already weeks in advance and I did not believe her. I don’t even remeber that much snowfall during the holiday season. In the past, even if it fell overnight, it melted quickly in the morning. This year it was different thanks to freezing temperatures. Tento rok boli Vianoce biele. Moja stara mama to predpovedala s tyzdnovym predstihom, no neverila som jej. Teraz sa jej ospravedlnujem. 😊 Ani si nepamatam, kedy boli naposledky sviatky biele. V minulosti, aj ked napadol v noci sneh, rano sa roztopil. No tentokrat to bolo inak. Snezilo viac dni a topit sa zacal az…

    Drawing: Dry brush

I was surprised how easy it was to paint with a technique called dry brush. You use a "dry brush" on dry paper. There is only color on the brush, but you can tip it into a small amount of oil or water.

    France: Medieval village of Yvoire

A beautiful medieval village of Yvoire lies on the French shore of Lac Leman surrounded by picturesque peaks of French Alps. The village has a boat connection from Geneva, Nyon and Lausanne and is a popular target with tourists especially in the summer. The medieval city center is small, cosy and full of flowers. From the spots, the most interesting are the castle, the Garden of 5 senses, the domaine de Rovorrée and, of course, the lake shore.

    Albania: Discovering the Balkan country

Until recently, Albania was a lesser known country for me. Of course, I knew the basics, I could easily pinpoint the country's location on the map, knew the capital, size, inhabitants, a little about the history, etc.. For work I researched the country's energy sector and learnt more about the country, the culture, history and the people in general. And was even more curious. So I visited the country in summer 2016.

    Albania: Tirana photos

Tirana became an unofficial capital city in 1920, officially only in 1925. You can see a lot of typical communist architecture, as well as colorful houses and a lot of mosques - the old town was founded by the Turks in 1614.

    Albania: Apolonia photos

Apolonia is an archaeological site, located not far from Vlora. There is a small monastery with a Greek church on a hill. Next to it, there are Roman excavations with an obelisk, an agora, an arc de triomphe, an odeon, a temple of Diana and excavated foundations of ancient buildings.

    Albania: Berat photos

Berat, a city on the UNESCO World Heritage List, is located about 120 km south of the capital city of Tirana and is known primarily as a city of thousands windows. This refers to the small white Ottoman cottages on the hill, which are frequent subjects of photographs, postcards and souvenirs.
