Hungary: Budapest’s Városliget park and the surroundings
In the Városliget park there is the zoo, the amusement park, as well as the Széchenyi furdo, and the Vajdahunyad Palace - a mixup of the Gothic and Renaissance architecture. A short walk around the park and the surrounding area is definitely worth it.

From the Royal palace on the Varhegy hill in Budapest, you can take a beautiful pedestrian walkway around the northern side of the hill towards the Matthias Church and the Bastion.

Mountain range Považský Inovec is spreading along the river Váh between cities Piešťany and Trenčín. The area is favourite for hiking.

Kroměříž is a city in the Morava region, north of Brno and Luhačovice. The historical centre of Kroměříž is nice to walk around as well as the Archbishop’s Château, the Flower Garden and the Château Garden, UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998.

Liptovská Mara is the third largest dam in Slovakia. Located in the Liptov region, it is my favourite stop on the way from High Tatras, Jasna, or other road trips in the Liptov region (Bešeňová, Lúčky, Hrabovo, Vlkolínec, Pribylina...).
Discovering Slovakia: Castle in Trencin
There is a lot of castles in Slovakia. Some are still standing and open for public visits, others are only ruins, like Beckov . Castle in Trencin belongs to the first category. It is located up on a hill towering over the city and it is visible from almost anywhere. My favourite view is when driving from the sport recreational area on the island or from the highway in the distance.

We have discovered this lovely castle with a big public park and gardens in Rajec Jestrebi purely by accident. We were passing it when returning from our trip in the Macocha area back to Brno. So we stopped and walked around the compound.

Luhacovice is a small, lovely spa town in the south-eastern part of Czech Republic, in the Morava region. It is a twin city to my hometown/spatown Piestany.

Nernier is a small village with medieval houses in the close vicinity to Yvoire. In fact, there is a walking trail from Yvoire, which used to be path of some of my evening runs.

France: Medieval village of Yvoire
A beautiful medieval village of Yvoire lies on the French shore of Lac Leman surrounded by picturesque peaks of French Alps. The village has a boat connection from Geneva, Nyon and Lausanne and is a popular target with tourists especially in the summer. The medieval city center is small, cosy and full of flowers. From the spots, the most interesting are the castle, the Garden of 5 senses, the domaine de Rovorrée and, of course, the lake shore.
Discovering Slovakia: Úzka dolina, Západné Tatry
Okrem Pribyliny a Štrbského plesa som vybehla aj do Liptovskej časti Tatier, konkrétne do Úzkej doliny, ktorá je štartovacou stanicou pre túry do Račkovej a Jamnickej doliny.
