Strategické zásoby sú pri ropnom šoku dôležité. Ale samy osebe nestačia. Rovnako dôležité je, či v priebehu týždňov dokážu krajiny znížiť spotrebu ropy, najmä v doprave, a či pomoc nasmerujú na tých, ktorých cenový tlak zasiahne najtvrdšie. Pretože ak sa nezníži dopyt, tlak sa len presunie ďalej: do cien palív, nákladov firiem a rozpočtov domácností. Aj o tom píše IEA v reporte Sheltering from Oil Shocks.

Slovak oil security: Druzhba, Adria, Hormuz and armed conflicts
Oil supply security can change quickly if the conflict in the Middle East leads to prolonged restrictions on transport through the Strait of Hormuz. Slovakia is in a specific position after Russian crude supplies were halted, relying on deliveries from the Middle East and the use of strategic reserves. In that case, both the oil price and access to physical deliveries would be important.

This long oil and gas tanker traffic jam is off the coast of Fujairah emirate, near the Strait of Hormuz. Driving along the road from Dibba to Fujairah, we stopped to admire a very old mosque and a fortress in Biddiyah, when I saw this line of tankers on the sea. I could not stop watching and counting the vessels.
