Swiss celebrated their national day on 1 August and finished the celebrations with fireworks and bonfires. I watched it from the french side of Lac Leman.
After a year I again returned to the medieval city of Yvoire on the coast of Lake Leman. This time I plan to visit places I did not get to last time, like Jardin de 5 Sens, Evian or nearby Chateaux.
The Swiss city of Geneva is cramped in between lake Leman and the Alps, near the border with France. It is such a naturally constrained space, that the city cannot grow larger anymore.
Švajčiarske mesto Ženeva leží medzi jazerom Leman a Alpskými kopcami pri hraniciach s Francúzskom. Je to taká ohraničená plocha, že mesto sa už nemá kam rozširovať.
Geneva is a small city in Switzerland. It lies at the western edge of Lac Leman, surrounded by mountains. The city centre is relatively small, you can get anywhere on foot. There are a few museums, but the real eye candy is the lake and its proximity to the border with France makes the well-known Alpine ski resorts only a short drive away.
