Sri Lanka: Lake, city and hills of Kandy
Upon arrival in Kandy, I have been both thrilled and overwhelmed by the vibrant city streets. From the cars, tuk-tuks, buses, trucks to the occasional cyclists, the city's lively traffic took me by surprise. More so, as the few days prior I spent in the relatively calm jungle area.
Slovakia: Bachledka ski resort and treetop viewpoint
Bachledova dolina (Bachledova valley) is a popular ski resort in the eastern Tatra mountains. When tired (like I was that day), the tree top view and walk point offers amazing views of both – the Slovak and the Polish mountains. The tree top walkway takes about 10 mins to reach a view tower. I was a bit hesitant stepping onto the net at the top. But the views were amazing and I set a reminder to myself – to return in the summer.
Discovering Slovakia: Castle in Trencin
There is a lot of castles in Slovakia. Some are still standing and open for public visits, others are only ruins, like Beckov . Castle in Trencin belongs to the first category. It is located up on a hill towering over the city and it is visible from almost anywhere. My favourite view is when driving from the sport recreational area on the island or from the highway in the distance.
Athens: City views from Lycabettus hill
The best views of Athens are from the hill of wolves - Lycabettus. You can see the historical centre with all major sights such as Acropolis, Panthenaic stadium or Hadrian's Arch, and if the weather is good, also the port of Pireus.
