Oman: Weekend trip to Muscat
Oman again. I happily admit I really like Oman mostly because of its nature strongly contrasting the UAE. The Emirates, that‘s palm trees, desert and camels. Oman, that’s palm trees, mountains and goats. I will write more about the country itself later, let’s focus on the capital city now.
You can do a lot of things in Muscat in 24 hours. For example you can go for a stroll in Corniche promenade, you can admire the newly built “Old Muscat” with the Sultan’s colossal palace and governmental buildings, visit fortresses and guarding towers, sunbathe on the city’s beautiful beach, watch the mangroves while drinking iced coffee at Starbucks, learn how to wear a scarf covering your head in the Grand Mosque, admire planes at an army museum and before and after pictures in the history museum, haggle at the traditional souk and eat dinner in one of the best restaurants in town. What did not fit in the programme was diving, mountain hiking and other museums. So see you soon, Muscat.
